mesej terakhir tv3

its been some time that i last blogged about a malay drama so lets do it again. furthermore i have not been blogging for sometime (not as if i have millions of fans out there who are eager to read what im blogging about. and in fact i do wonder if anyone do follow or read my entries. but then again) so here is another review - mesej terakhir shown over cerekarama slot tv3 last saturday.

in a nutshell it is about marina (rita rudaini) who upon the death of her husband hafiz (zaefrul nordin) is shocked to discover some intimate messages from another woman on his handphone.

then there is tini (tia zaqyuah) a divorcee with a kid who is in love with hafiz and pines hope that he would one day marry her without knowing that he is actually married. and you have her former husband adam (fizz fairuz) who has repented for being cruel to her and wants her back.

the main setback about this drama was the acting. rita rudaini is indeed a talented actress no doubt and we have seen some of her better and polished performances. but in mesej terakhir, i felt that she did not really give her all. for instance in the first few scenes where she gets a call informing of her husband's death, rita just gave an average and even slightly often repeated performance. that was indeed a let down, and in the subsequent scenes where she is shown as deeply disturbed by her husband's death, her make up was indeed thick and the lip gloss oh my ..... betul betul tak kena. but to give rita credit, she was quite good in the scene where she confronts her friend julia (amyza adnan) if she knew about her husband's affair

as for zaefrul nordin, have not seen much off him after hati malaya 1957. perhaps mesej terakhir could have created more interest if the main male lead role was given to a more popular and better known actor.

tia, amyza and fizz did what was expected of them. wan maimunah did justice to her role as usual while mak engku or ku faridah was not fully utilised in her role as she is far capable

somehow i feel the screenplay was too loose and rather draggy that at times you just lose your interest. and certain things were just not convincing like the ending scene where hafiz writes in his diary that he hopes marina can accept the fact ... err where did that come from. and you have tini in a scene saying all she wants is hafiz and that she can no longer accept adam. and yet immediately on discovering that hafiz is no longer around, she can accept adam
and not to forget, there was a scene when the husband asked the wife for a cup of teh tarik and the subtitle in english read "foam tea" ... aiyooo

and another thing which i dont understand is how did rita managed to trace the restaurant where her husband was supposed to meet the other woman when there was nothing about it mentioned in the sms.
